I like the vintage Rolex and Tudor watches prior to the 60s. When I am able to find some nice examples, I will post them here for sale.
The watches are all from the Rolex Watch Company, but simply marketed under different labels. There is hardly any difference in the quality of the earlier watches--just the price A vintage Rolex watch should be in every watch collection.
The Rolex bubbleback is truly a classic. Thsi design started it all with the Rolex perpetual movement. The automatic rotor was added to an existing movement which caused the whole movement to be thicker than previous non-automatic models. To compensate, Rolex rounded that back of the case. The case design is oloved by Rolex collectors, and is prized in any collection. Solid gold models like this one are very difficult to find. The dial has been restored to the original, and everything else is original. $3475.00 SOLD Glossary
Collectible and beautiful. This Rolex has lugs that are different from most others. Notice the "rope" type of lugs called bombe [pronounced "bombay"]. The case is 14K solid yellow gold, and is reference 6593. It has the perpetual or automatic movement that is wound with daily movement. The dial is so gorgeous and is an original. These are rare and valued. There is a very light hand engraved inscription on the back that dates the watch to 1959 ["To a prince of a guy 1959"] $2825.00 SOLD

There just aren't enough superlatives for this 1928 wonder. The first Oyster cases were presented by Rolex in the 20's. They had the "Cushion", and the "Octagon", but the Octagon was not a good seller. What makes this one even more special, is that the case is 9K solid pink gold. These are very much desired by collectors today. The screw down crowns threads do not catch, but everything else is 100%--screw back, all the correct markings, serviced and with a high quality strap on the fixed lugs. This is the smaller version at only 28mm wide, and has a wonderful redial. $2950.00 SOLD Glossary
There just aren't enough superlatives for this 1928 wonder. The first Oyster cases were presented by Rolex in the 20's. I believe this one is from the 30's because it does not have the fixed lugs on the plated steel case. They had the "Cushion", and the "Octagon", but the Octagon was not a good seller. The dial is wonderful and I believe original. The movement is signed under the dial, not on the back. These are very much desired by collectors today. The crown screws down like the ones made today, and everything else is 100%--screw back, all the correct markings, serviced and with a high quality strap. There is some pitting on the back $2250.00 Glossary
This Rolex DateJust watch has the Oyster case and the 1570 perpetual movement with a non-quickset date function. The case is reference 1603 and is about 35mm wide. Inside the back, is the date for the second quarter of 1970. The bezel ring is solid gold, and the rest of the case is stainless steel. The wonderful slate gray dial is original to the watch. There is a tiny nick on the bottom of the crystal. It has been serviced and runs like a champ. $1560.00 SOLD

The Viceroy design includes a case that has the Oyster technology [sealed with a screw back and a screw down corwn] that Rolex pioneered. The design is quite unlike other Rolex cases however. This one has the fairly rare gold bezel that really sets off the three piece case. There is some very minor pitting on the back of the case. The dial has been redone in a striking black with white numerals that is true to Rolex design. This is a manual wind movement. $1975.00 SOLD Glossary -->
